Tree with spotted deer

                           

I have been working on a new dry point plate in preparation for my planned visit to Artichoke Print in Brixton next week. I have decided that I will focus on dry point plates and chine colle technique for a bit. For this composition I started with the drawing of the Falmouth Tree and added the spotted deer from my Lady Lever Tapestry drawings. I found some sandpaper and rubbed the plate with this to create the texture for the foliage on the tree. Pushed some ink into it to see how it might look.I am also planning a visit to Intaglio Printmaker in London to pick up some additional tools, ink and specialist papers.
