A great place to visit in Cornwall in the spring is the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Gardens in St Ives. The planting in the garden is exotic with a predominance of bamboo and succulent plants that I love - The fascinating natural forms of the sculptures by Hepworth fit beautifully with the garden . The surfaces of the sculptures take on a patina reflecting the colours of the plants. Visits to this garden prompted me to introduce rather a lot of bamboo into my own garden on the wirral - well I can dream can't I?
